a little love coming down the tracks

My son loves a few things to the extreme:  trains- watching them, playing with them, reading about them and talking about them.  He also loves watching our little friend Ezra on the computer. He thinks that is what all computers are for.  When Larry or I sit at our home computer, Brooks will run over and pull at us saying “ezra!” “ezra!” over and over.

When the two were combined today my son was mesmerized –so excited and made me play this video over and over.  Our sweet friend Ezra has had a rough go lately, so it was a treat to get to watch him play so enthusiastically with his “Thomas” trains. 

Brooks and Ezra don’t get to play together because we live in GA and Ezra and his family live in TX.  These two little guys have been friends from birth, so it’s bitter-sweet that we have to depend on youtube and blogs for play dates.  But something is better than nothing- right?

I don’t know what goes on in my son’s little heart and mind when we talk about Ezra or watch him on his blog or videos, but I know he loves to watch and says Ezra’s name with the same enthusiasm he reserves for trains, airplanes, busses and all things transportation related.  These are all things he loves.

Here is a cute little video of Brooks watching Ezra today- repeating the word’s Ezra says and enjoying “thomas” right along with his little friend.  It made me smile and made my heart squeeze a little missing friends.
